Welk Resorts is a family of luxury vacation ownership properties—including major sites in Southern California, Branson and Cabo—focused on maintaining a consistent, high-quality guest experience. Jackie Newbeck, Director of Purchasing, leads a five-person team that manages all facilities’ purchasing needs and faced high volume and complexity (over $6M spent in two years and roughly 200 purchase orders per week), requiring standardized procedures and tighter quality control across multiple properties.
After evaluating four vendors, Welk implemented Bellwether Purchasing Software (Purchasing, Receiving, Requisitions, Inventory and Bar-coding modules). Within 60 days the system was adopted by users, paper/email requisitions were eliminated, and workflow and process control improved substantially; Bellwether’s responsive support was also praised, leaving Welk satisfied with increased efficiency and consistent quality across its resorts.
