Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation - Customer Case Study

Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) is a private, nonprofit mutual insurer founded in 1991 and is the state’s largest workers’ compensation carrier, serving about 23,000 policyholders from its Baton Rouge headquarters. Bill Williams, LWCC’s Purchasing Facility Manager, ran a centralized purchasing team but relied on manual, paper-based processes—typing purchase orders and digging through boxes for records—which made research and routine tasks slow and labor-intensive.

LWCC evaluated several products and implemented Bellwether Purchasing Software, configuring a Master File and deploying Purchasing, Receiving, Requisitions, Inventory, and A/P Interface modules to manage roughly 300 vendors and 1,300 POs a year. Implementation was painless and the result was a vastly improved workflow: purchase orders and vendor files are quickly accessible, research is simple, and the overall purchasing process is streamlined and far more efficient.
