United Way Hartford Chapter raises $200 with Belcan to support local athlete

The United Way Hartford Chapter, a local non-profit organization, faced a challenge when a community member named Steve Anastasio, who has Spina Bifida, needed financial assistance to modify his wheelchair in order to participate in a marathon as part of an elite inspirational team. Belcan's East Hartford office learned of this need through the organization's connection to the event.

Belcan's solution was to collectively raise funds as an office to cover the cost of the necessary wheelchair improvements. The vendor successfully raised $200, which enabled Steve to participate in the ING Half Marathon. This allowed Belcan to directly support both a member of their local community and a United Way event.
