Global Mining and Construction Equipment OEM partnered with Belcan to improve the efficiency and safety of large mining operations. The customer needed more robust driving features for mining trucks, as their hydraulic braking systems lacked sophisticated control strategies.

Belcan worked with the customer’s research and advanced technology team to evaluate and select cost-effective IMUs and mounting locations for real-time truck dynamics monitoring. Belcan then developed and validated ABS and ESC control strategies through bench and field testing, enabling more automated braking functions such as differential and partial braking. The result was active braking systems that improved operational safety and efficiency under varied track and weather conditions.
