Largest Energy Delivery Company faced widespread retirements of engineers and technicians and rehired many as contractors to retain critical knowledge. This created wide variation in pay rates and onboarding/offboarding practices across suppliers, exposing the company to legal, compliance, and misclassification risks; although Beeline had deployed a Vendor Management System (VMS) in 2008, the client was not fully leveraging its analytics and capabilities.
Beeline helped the client add a third‑party MSP and automated onboarding/offboarding through the Beeline VMS, enabling stricter supplier vetting and management. Using Beeline’s VMS analytics, the MSP uncovered more than $300 million in unclassified labor, recovered over $600,000 in sales tax, identified extreme supplier markups, and delivered rate‑card and pricing alignment savings (more than $75,000 plus an additional $100,000), allowing the client to better manage its extended workforce and preserve retiring employees’ knowledge.
