British Engineering Services (BES) is a provider of engineering testing, inspection and consultancy services with a remote field force of more than 400 engineers. As the business grew, BES was managing medium- to long-term capacity planning across more than a dozen spreadsheets, making the process slow, manual, and difficult to keep current. The planning team was spending around 50% of the month building the report, leaving little time for analysis or “what-if” scenario planning.

BES partnered with Bedford Consulting and Anaplan to implement a capacity planning solution that pulls data from five import sources into a single, traceable model. With the new process, the capacity plan is available on calendar day one instead of day ten, giving the team much faster access to accurate, up-to-date information. Bedford Consulting helped BES gain better visibility, real-time modelling, and stronger confidence in the data, enabling faster decision-making across operations, management, and investors.
