Case Study: Pilatus Aircraft achieves scalable, simplified IT with Bechtle and HPE

A Bechtle Case Study

Preview of the Pilatus Aircraft Case Study

Pilatus takes its IT sky high

Pilatus Aircraft, the Swiss aircraft manufacturer behind business and training aircraft such as the PC-12 and PC-24, was facing rapidly growing data volumes from development and production. Its existing servers and storage had reached their limits, with a complex, heterogeneous environment spread across two data centres and more than 13 component types. Bechtle was brought in to help Pilatus replace this performance-limiting infrastructure with a more unified, future-ready server and storage platform based on HPE technology.

Bechtle designed and implemented a consolidated solution built around two fully redundant HPE 3PAR StoreServ 10800 systems, six high-end HPE servers for virtualisation, HPE blade servers, and HPE FlexFabric networking. The new platform added advanced tiering, thin provisioning, synchronous replication between sites, and improved backup to HPE P2000 G3 systems. As a result, Pilatus gained far better scalability, simpler management, stronger data protection, and up to 45% storage savings, enabling the IT team to respond much faster to new business requirements.
