Tropical Islands, Europe’s largest tropical holiday resort near Berlin, needed to modernize an aging Cisco network that supported park operations, VoIP communication, booking, billing, and planned new video and TV services. The company worked with Bechtle to address growing performance and availability demands and to prepare the network for future expansion.
Bechtle redesigned the infrastructure with a 20 Gb backbone, upgraded switches in critical areas, and implemented Cisco Virtual Switching System (VSS) plus the latest Cisco Unified Communications Manager for improved VoIP. The result was a highly available, scalable, and more cost-effective network that supports data, voice, video, and TV services reliably across the resort, while also reducing maintenance effort and improving overall performance.
