Preview of the Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg Case Study

Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg boosts server power with Bechtle and 5 Lenovo servers

Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, the world's largest model railway, required more powerful servers to handle its complex IT infrastructure, which included controlling the railway, supporting demanding CAD and 3D applications, and managing its website and PoS system. The attraction sought enhanced power, faster communication, and improved application performance, leading them to partner with vendor Bechtle for new Lenovo servers.

Bechtle implemented a solution with five pre-release Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 V3 servers, configured with high-performance hardware to meet both current and future needs. This provided the necessary power to effortlessly run complex programs and visualizations. As a result, Miniatur Wunderland received a future-proof infrastructure and, by utilizing Lenovo's CO2 Offset Service, also reduced its carbon footprint, making its operations more sustainable.
