Case Study: Renz Group enables smart parcel box control with Bechtle

A single control unit for Renz digital parcelboxes

Renz Group, the family-owned European leader in letter and parcel box clusters, wanted to expand beyond mechanical boxes for single-family homes and develop digitally controlled parcel box systems for multi-flat houses and larger residential complexes. To support this innovation, Bechtle provided procurement guidance and IT expertise, while also helping shape the underlying solution built around Renz’s self-developed control unit with a touch panel PC and Windows 10 IoT.

Bechtle supported Renz from development through launch by selecting and procuring IT components, creating the companion app through its Competence Centre for Business Collaboration, and implementing a security strategy with audit support via BISS. The result was a web-connected parcel box platform that works with any parcel service, enables app/RFID/code-based access, and supports resident notifications, property management visibility, and new use cases such as click and collect and secure storage for deliveries and personal items.
