BearingPoint worked with Valmet, a global developer and supplier for the pulp, paper, and energy industries, to address challenges in its financial operations. The Nasdaq Helsinki-listed company needed to optimize its project revenue recognition and hedge accounting processes, which were hampered by disjointed tools, inconsistent data, and manual reporting inefficiencies that risked impacting overall performance.

The solution involved BearingPoint designing and implementing a new cloud platform named PROFIT, using technologies including Microsoft Azure, SQL, Anaplan, and Power BI. This integrated system automated data processing and calculations, providing a single source of truth. As a result, Valmet achieved reliable, real-time financial data, halved report processing time, and gained efficiency in month-end closing, enabling better-informed decisions and streamlined operations.
