Detroit Manufacturing Systems (DMS) faced challenges with manual data processing, including significant lags in handling purchase orders and price changes from its OEM customer. This created a stressful workload for staff and risked negative business impacts. DMS partnered with vendor BDO Digital, which advised on an automation solution to address these immediate needs.

BDO Digital implemented a rapid assessment and then developed automation bots using the UiPath platform. These bots automated data retrieval and reconciliation with DMS's SAP ERP system, also processing material changes and price fluctuations in real-time. The solution eliminated a 15-20 day processing lag, freed the finance analyst to focus on higher-value work, and prevented the need to hire two additional staff. BDO Digital's automation also reduced customer complaints and streamlined month-end activities for the purchasing and sales groups.
