Carestream, a global healthcare imaging provider, needed a way to keep U.S. and Canadian travelers moving during flight disruptions while reducing downtime, frustration, and administrative burden for the travel manager. To address this challenge, Carestream turned to BCD Travel and its Disruption Services.

BCD Travel implemented a proactive disruption management solution that monitored flights 24x7, identified at-risk itineraries, and re-accommodated travelers with alternate flights, hotel, or rental car arrangements when needed. In 2013, BCD Travel monitored 8,300 itineraries and found about 2,300 disruptions; consultants intervened on 28% of impacted trips, including 18% re-protected and 10% rebooked. The result was higher traveler satisfaction, lower stress, and measurable reporting that helped Carestream demonstrate the program’s value to management.
