Hayneedle (hayneedle.com) is a large online home retailer—born as hammocks.com—operating 250+ specialty stores with over 500,000 products across 2,200+ categories and many styles. Their challenge was helping shoppers navigate this vast assortment, surface items that match a shopper’s in-the-moment intent, and occasionally introduce surprising but relevant alternatives.

Hayneedle combined its own affinity algorithms with Baynote’s in-the-moment personalized recommendations—deployed on product pages, the cart, email, and “welcome back” sessions—to interpret search intent and recommend related products and categories. The solution drove strong engagement and conversion: product-page recommendations averaged 62% greater engagement, product views rose 3%, add-to-cart 4%, cart starts up to 5%, average order value +2%, and customers interacting with Baynote recommendations were twice as likely to complete a purchase.
