British Columbia Securities Commission delivers near-instant search results with Bayleaf

The British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) needed to drastically improve its website's search capabilities and usability, particularly to seamlessly integrate several external content sources and handle large, difficult-to-distinguish result sets. To address this challenge, Bayleaf employed Azure Cognitive Search to develop a smarter search implementation.

Bayleaf devised a smart system that synchronized external content into Sitecore placeholders for nightly indexing. They also established a content taxonomy to leverage Azure Search's AI capabilities, resulting in a faceted search UI. This solution delivered almost instantaneous, more accurate results, allowing users to visually narrow large result sets—for example, drilling down from thousands of results to just two relevant ones—greatly improving the user experience.
