Millennium Physician Group (MPG), an Accountable Care Organization with more than 300 locations, struggled with paper‑based accounts payable, no purchase order system, and limited visibility into spending. Manual invoice entry created bottlenecks, errors, overtime and constrained the organization’s ability to control indirect spend and scale operations.

Working with Basware and Extropy Advisors, MPG implemented e‑invoicing, AP automation and Basware’s SmartPDF (OCR) integrated with its ERP to automate invoice capture, matching and approvals. The rollout delivered rapid results: spend under control rose to ~59%, touchless processing reached 60%, invoice cycle time fell from 30 to 5 days, exception rates dropped from 20% to 5%, on‑time payments hit 95%, and staff overtime and manual processing needs were significantly reduced.
