DNA, one of Finland’s largest telecommunications companies, needed to speed up month-end closing and reduce heavy manual work in its purchase-to-pay (P2P) cycle. Procurement was fragmented across systems with little integration to finance, contracts were managed locally by individual managers, and maverick spending and slow invoice processing hampered visibility and control.
DNA implemented Basware P2P, centralizing contract lifecycle management, standardizing cost centers and account coding, and mandating all purchasing through the platform while onboarding suppliers via punch‑out and catalogue integrations. The change eliminated manual invoice processing, improved paid-on-time rates and reduced maverick spend — achieving 100% supplier adoption, a 67% e-invoice rate, and automatic matching rates of over 50% for recurring invoices (40% for non-recurring).
