A BASF Case Study
BASF worked with Premier Penthouses, a residential developer in Kent and Sussex, on low- to medium-rise timber frame apartment blocks. The main challenge was to achieve strong thermal insulation and reliable air tightness, while avoiding gaps between timber studs that could create thermal bridges and reduce building performance.
BASF’s WALLTITE spray foam insulation was used as a standard solution, sprayed directly onto the timber panels to form a seamless, airtight closed-cell layer that bonds to the substrate and follows irregular surfaces. The approach improved speed of installation versus insulation board and gave the client confidence in a consistent airtight finish; BASF also provided specification guidance for achieving target U-values of 0.25, 0.22, and 0.20 W/m2K using 95mm, 110mm, and 130mm of WALLTITE respectively.
