A BASF Case Study
Northcroft Construction Consultants, working on a Passivhaus home in Poole, Dorset, needed a way to insulate and airtight a complex roof structure while meeting the demanding standards of a near-zero-energy house. BASF supplied WALLTITE CL 100 spray foam insulation to help address the challenge of achieving very low U-values and exceptional airtightness in the roof space.
BASF and its approved contractor Isotech Sprayfoam Ltd. applied a 105mm layer of WALLTITE between the rafters alongside PIR board above, allowing the insulation to conform to the irregular roof shape and bond tightly to the substrate. The 160m2 roof area was completed in just two days, delivering the required thermal performance and airtightness, and Northcroft Construction Consultants reported being very impressed with the speed and effectiveness of the installation.
