Basefarm Brings Next Generation Monitoring Capabilities to Bokbasen

Bokbasen, a Norwegian publishing services company, needed a modern way to monitor newly built containerized and serverless applications as it digitized books and learning materials. Its existing monitoring tools were not suited to an AWS-based architecture with variable demand, so it turned to Basefarm for support, using Datadog alongside AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, Lambda, and GuardDuty.

Basefarm implemented Datadog-managed monitoring, APM, anomaly detection, forecasting, and Watchdog insights, with alerts routed to Slack or Basefarm’s ITSM system depending on ownership. The result was end-to-end visibility across applications, middleware, and AWS infrastructure, plus earlier detection of performance issues and security threats before they became major incidents.
