Le Refuge / Het Opvanghuis raises support with Base Design after 88% of youth arrive with no income

Le Refuge / Het Opvanghuis, a Brussels-based non-profit shelter for LGBTQIA+ youth, faced the challenge of creating a brand identity that felt both queer-forward and institutionally credible. They needed a voice that was inclusive and inspired by queer culture without being appropriative, one that could uplift their community while also signaling expertise to donors. Base Design was engaged to provide brand strategy and an identity system to define their mission and strengthen their visibility.

Base Design crafted a visual and verbal identity that balanced warmth with structure. Their solution incorporated the inclusive Amiamie font and a reimagined, softer Pride color palette to honor the non-profit's mission. The work spanned brand strategy, positioning, identity, and campaign development, all designed to cement the organization's foundations, amplify its visibility, and drive donor engagement.
