GHS Labeling Project Simplifies Compliance, Cuts Costs

Leading Chemical Manufacturer faced a major compliance and operational challenge when OSHA’s GHS mandate exposed weaknesses in its legacy labeling: an expensive, error-prone system with preprinted stock, frequent media jams, and more than 9,000 individual label files compounded by recent acquisitions and disparate data sources. After a careful evaluation, the company selected BarTender (deployed by partner Adaptive Data Inc.) to modernize its labeling for regulatory and production needs.

Using BarTender, ADI implemented a centralized, forms-based labeling system with Intelligent Templates™ and layered content that pulls product data from multiple systems with a single job entry. The solution cut label formats from over 9,000 to 24, produces 2–4 different labels per job to multiple printers, eliminated per-print click charges and wasted media, and drastically sped up label creation (new SKUs can be labeled in about five minutes), delivering measurable cost savings, greater accuracy and scalable support for ongoing acquisitions.
