BarTender helps global medical device manufacturer standardize RFID tag serialization

Global Medical Device Manufacturer needed to meet strict FDA UDI and industry labeling requirements for SGTIN-96 RFID tags and to better print, manage, and leverage RFID data. The company required a system to log print jobs and label data to an SQL database, generate CSV files and transfer them to an SFTP server, and standardize and centralize RFID label printing — requirements it addressed with BarTender (BarTender Print Portal Server, BarTender Enterprise Edition, and BarTender Administration Console).

Seagull Scientific Sales Engineers and Professional Services implemented a backend integration between the manufacturer’s SQL database and BarTender Print Portal Server using BarTender Administration Console, enabling preset web forms that push and log label data and send jobs to network or USB RFID printers. As a result, BarTender now centrally stores and manages labels across all facilities, standardizes SGTIN-96 serialization, improves product tracking and traceability, and supports enhanced patient safety.
