Renault modernizes operations at major distribution hub with BarTender®-based automated solution

Renault Group’s European Distribution Center in Boom, Belgium faced a high-volume, error-prone labeling challenge: the 17,000 m2 Benelux hub handles roughly 33,000 SKUs with four thermal printers and colored media, creating speed, quality and lead-time issues. To modernize picking, reduce mistakes and avoid deployment delays, Renault Group implemented a BarTender-based solution (BarTender Automation Edition) via PHI DATA’s LabelEasy integration.

PHI DATA’s LabelEasy bundle with BarTender runs on two Epson color printers, a Datalogic scanner and a SQL-backed workflow that uses BarTender Layers for conditional, on-demand color printing (up to 300 mm/s), single adaptable label templates, scan verification and an audit trail. The BarTender solution delivered higher-quality labels, allowed operators to edit labels themselves, reduced errors and improved throughput and traceability—giving Renault Group greater control and efficiency without deployment backlogs.
