Case Study: Perstorp achieves standardized, failsafe labeling and major labor savings with BarTender

BarTender® eliminates Perstorp’s need for infrastructure investment while reducing human resource burden

Perstorp’s animal nutrition division at Waspik faced rapid growth and needed to standardize labelling across new filling and palletising lines to increase production efficiency and reduce operator input. To meet this challenge they turned to BarTender, deploying BarTender’s Automation Edition (with integration by systems integrator GraphicALL) to replace manual label selection and remove the risk of mislabelling during a period of capacity expansion.

GraphicALL used BarTender Automation Edition to centrally design labels, integrate via PLC to the bag and pallet printers, and provide a simple touchscreen for one operator to control both lines. The BarTender solution now delivers the correct label to feed bags and pallets with minimal intervention, saves hours of operator time per day, creates a failsafe that stops the line if labels are missing or wrong, and removed the need for an additional palletising line — eliminating infrastructure investment and reducing Perstorp’s human resource burden.
