Case Study: Bin Inn achieves FSANZ allergen labelling compliance with BarTender

A BarTender Case Study

Preview of the Bin Inn Case Study

How BarTender® is helping Bin Inn meet new FSANZ regulations

Bin Inn, a New Zealand bulk-food retailer with 38 stores, faced new FSANZ Proposal P1044 rules requiring allergens to be listed in plain English, named individually (about 20 allergens), shown in bold and accompanied by a “contains” summary. To meet these tighter labelling requirements without disrupting store operations, Bin Inn turned to BarTender, upgrading from the Starter edition to BarTender Professional Edition and leveraging its Intelligent Templates™.

BarTender implemented automated label rules—such as bolding allergen text and generating compliant allergen summary statements—while centralizing bulk-bin label design at head office and enabling local printing in each store. Using BarTender Professional Edition and Intelligent Templates ensured consistent application of FSANZ rules across all 38 stores, delivered major time savings for staff, and gave Bin Inn the confidence and peace of mind that their labels remain fully compliant.
