Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL), a global provider of power‑system protection, control and automation, needed to manage accurate, compliant labeling for custom-built products across a complex supply chain. Facing hundreds of printers and multi-country regulatory requirements across 11 locations, SEL required an integrated, automated labeling platform—so they turned to BarTender (Intelligent Templates™ and Professional Services) to standardize and automate labeling tied to ERP data.

BarTender was integrated with SEL’s Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP to automatically generate order‑specific, country‑compliant labels at every stage—parts, inventory, assembly, finished goods, shipping and field modifications. The solution embeds Dynamics AX data into labels, supports barcode tracking and automated reordering, and runs reliably across hundreds of printers in 11 locations for nearly 20 years, reducing labeling errors, ensuring regulatory compliance and keeping products moving through the supply chain.
