A BarTender Case Study
The American Multi-brand and Specialty Apparel Retailing Company, a U.S. specialty apparel retailer operating 450+ stores and sourcing over 150,000 items from 500+ suppliers daily, faced inconsistent, homemade supplier labels that forced time-consuming relabeling at distribution centers and inflated licensing costs under a per‑user model. To address this, the retailer selected BarTender and its web-based Print Portal to standardize labeling across its vertical supply chain.
BarTender delivered predefined label templates, browser-based print‑time forms and per‑printer licensing so suppliers could print consistent, correct labels at the site of manufacture on a wide range of printers and operating systems after minimal video training. As a result, labeling responsibility shifted to suppliers, cross‑dock relabeling was eliminated, supply‑chain visibility and velocity improved, and the retailer realized measurable savings in time, resources and cost while avoiding idle licensing fees through BarTender’s per‑printer model.
