Renault modernizes operations at major distribution hub with BarTender®-based automated solution

Groupe Renault’s Benelux distribution center in Boom, Belgium—managing a 17,000 m2 warehouse with some 33,000 SKUs and high production rates—needed to modernize its label printing to reduce errors, speed throughput and avoid deployment delays or backlogs. To address this, Groupe Renault worked with BarTender (implemented by partner PHI DATA) to replace a slow, four-printer, color-media workflow with a BarTender-based automated labeling solution using BarTender Automation Edition as part of PHI DATA’s LabelEasy offering.

PHI DATA’s LabelEasy solution built around BarTender uses two Epson color printers, a Datalogic fixed scanner, CSV-to-SQL data feeds and BarTender Layers for conditional printing, enabling on-demand color and icons and printing at up to 300 mm/second. The system creates an audit trail with print/scan verification, lets operators edit labels directly, and has significantly reduced labeling errors while improving quality and throughput—consolidating Renault’s process for its ~33,000 references and providing a single, maintainable solution powered by BarTender.
