Case Study: TAL Apparel achieves 50% faster time-to-production and reduced IT burden with BarTender

A BarTender Case Study

Preview of the TAL Apparel Case Study

BarTender® and TAL Apparel innovate to reduce IT burden and accelerate time-to-production by 50%

TAL Apparel, a Hong Kong–based global apparel manufacturer with nine plants and 70 label/tag printers, faced slow, error-prone labeling because it relied on proprietary in-house printer code and developer intervention for every label change. The process had no visual preview, required Visual Basic/JavaScript expertise, risked halting production for proofs, and created a heavy IT burden—so TAL Apparel selected BarTender (BarTender 2016 Enterprise Automation Edition) to modernize its labeling.

BarTender implemented an enterprise labeling platform—including the BarTender SDK, Integration Builder and a WYSIWYG interface—that separated labeling from the production system, enabled nontechnical users to edit and preview labels, and automated barcode encoding and compliance. As a result, BarTender cut time-to-production by 50%, eliminated production-halting proofs, reduced developer workload, improved GS1/compliance handling, and streamlined versioning and approval workflows.
