A.G.Barr Obtains Rapid insight into Brand Sales

A.G. Barr, the UK soft drinks manufacturer, needed a faster way to analyse sales and profitability across an expanding brand portfolio. With data coming from three different sales systems and reports being assembled manually in spreadsheets, the company struggled to consolidate information into a reliable, timely view by brand, customer and region.

Barrachd helped A.G. Barr create a central “single source of truth” using IBM InfoSphere Balanced Warehouse, integrated with the company’s sales systems and paired with IBM Cognos 8 Business Intelligence for reporting. The result was a major improvement in speed and accuracy: monthly brand sales reports that once took up to ten days could be produced in around ten minutes after month close, two full-time staff were freed from manual number-crunching, and the business gained faster, more flexible decision-making.
