Barcoding Develops Custom Active Tracking for National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic in Colorado

The National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic needed to track the location of its hardware inventory, such as laptops, across a large mountain resort during a major event. Their previous RFID system could not provide real-time visibility, leading to inefficiencies in equipment usage and recovery. Barcoding was brought in to develop a new active tracking solution to solve this challenge.

Barcoding implemented a custom Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) solution in partnership with Link Labs, using puck tags on hardware and developing specialized monitoring software. This provided the clinic with real-time, high-accuracy location data for all tracked assets. The successful deployment ensured coverage across nearly twenty sites, and the solution immediately proved its value by helping staff quickly locate a misplaced laptop, saving valuable time and resources before the event even began.
