The Shougang Park - Customer Case Study

The Shougang Park, a landmark exhibition venue in Beijing, faced the challenge of creating an immersive New Year's Eve light show on a 14,000 square meter cooling tower. This required projecting over a long 260-meter distance in a challenging outdoor environment with high winds and low temperatures, demanding extremely bright, high-resolution projectors with stable performance and precise color accuracy. Barco was selected to provide a solution using their UDX-4K40 projectors.

Barco implemented a solution using 24 UDX-4K40 laser projectors, which provided the necessary 40,000 lumens of brightness for ultra-long-distance coverage. The projectors excelled at color reproduction, particularly for the dominant red tones of the show, and operated with high stability in strong winds and temperatures of minus twelve degrees. The result was a brilliant and dazzling projection mapping show that successfully created an immersive experience for visitors and helped establish a new brand of night cultural tourism for the city.
