Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) faced the challenge of creating a monumental visual display for the closing ceremony of the Dakar Rally 2020 by projecting a massive, uniform image onto the irregular surface of the Tuwaiq mountains in Saudi Arabia. To realize this ambitious project and showcase the nation's Vision 2030, they partnered with vendor Barco and utilized their UDX projectors.

Barco implemented a solution using 84 UDX-W40 projectors to create a single, seamless image across a 440-meter-wide section of the mountain. The vendor's team collaborated closely on projection studies, laser scanning, and the development of custom mounting kits to overcome the challenges of the natural canvas. The result was a mind-blowing and breathtaking finale that dazzled onlookers, successfully promoting the Qiddiya development and establishing Barco as a preferred partner for future projects.
