The city of Philadelphia faced a challenge in managing traffic congestion and responding to incidents in real time, as it lacked a modern Traffic Operations Center for its extensive roadway network. To address this, they partnered with Barco and integrator Vistacom to implement a solution using Barco's Control Room Management (CMS) software and a video wall.

Barco's solution integrated a large video wall displaying feeds from over 5,000 cameras, creating a single common operational picture. This system, powered by Barco's CMS and TransForm N, provided traffic engineers with enhanced situational awareness. The result was a significant improvement in the city's ability to monitor its arterial system, actively manage thousands of traffic signals, and make faster, more efficient decisions to improve safety and reduce congestion.
