Paris welcomes 2020 with memorable Barco video mapping

Cookies Production was tasked by the city of Paris with creating a fresh and spectacular New Year's Eve sound and light show for the Arc de Triomphe. Their challenge was to produce a show that was visually superior to previous editions while adhering to the same budget, requiring deep collaboration between technical, artistic, and pyrotechnic teams. For this project, Cookies Production utilized Barco UDX-W32 projectors as a key part of their technical solution.

The solution, implemented by Barco, involved the use of 15 high-brightness UDX projectors, which achieved a landmark 470,000 lumens and over 300 lux per square meter on the monument’s surface. This Barco-powered technical setup, which also included media servers for video mapping and playback, resulted in a captivating show for over 400,000 attendees. The reliable and razor-sharp 4K projection provided stunning visuals that were integral to the event's success, marking a new technical achievement for the iconic Parisian celebration.
