Case Study: Inmarsat achieves total control over its satellite network with Barco OpSpace

A Barco Case Study

Preview of the Inmarsat Case Study

OpSpace workstations give Inmarsat total control over satellite network

Inmarsat, a global telecommunications company providing mobile satellite connectivity, needed to efficiently monitor its extensive network of ground stations and satellites from its 24/7 control room. Their challenge was managing dozens of information sources distributed across multiple desktops, which hampered their ability to get a quick overview and respond to alerts. The company partnered with vendor Barco to implement a solution using Barco OpSpace workstations.

Barco's solution, implemented with systems integrator INTER, centralized all control room sources onto two integrated OpSpace workstations, which operators control with a single keyboard and mouse. This provided Inmarsat with a complete overview, enabling them to respond to emergencies much more quickly. The Barco solution also offers easy future scalability for network expansion and enables robust disaster recovery and remote access capabilities, which were previously much more cumbersome to manage.
