HTM, the public transport company for The Hague region, faced the challenge of renewing its 24/7 traffic control center. Their key requirements included the need for a permanent view of specific sources on a fixed layout and the flexibility for operators to easily switch between workstations, a concept known as free seating. For this project, Barco, through its partner INTER, implemented its OpSpace solution.

The Barco OpSpace solution delivered flexible workstations where multiple sources could be displayed on a single screen using a fixed layout controlled by one mouse and keyboard. This allowed any traffic controller to pre-program their desired working environment at any desk. The project was successfully executed in the live environment without disrupting operations. As a result, HTM employees gained optimal usage of the system's functionalities after comprehensive training, leading to a cleaner desk and a significantly better overview for controllers.
