Five-sided Barco cave fully immerses architects into building solutions

Reynaers Aluminium faced a challenge in visualizing complex 3D architectural models on flat screens, which made it difficult for stakeholders to fully evaluate and collaborate on building designs. To overcome this, they sought to create a fully immersive virtual reality cave and partnered with Barco for its visualization expertise.

The solution implemented by Barco was a five-sided immersive cave powered by 24 Barco laser projectors. This setup provided the high-resolution, bright, and vivid imagery required for architects to collaboratively step inside, evaluate, and fine-tune designs in a shared virtual space. The Barco solution streamlined the decision-making process, helped detect costly design mistakes early, and significantly strengthened Reynaers' partnerships with architects and contractors.
