The city of Ji'an faced the challenge of creating a large-scale, immersive nighttime projection mapping tour along the Houhe River. Environmental factors like ambient light, water mist, and uneven projection surfaces threatened image quality. The project required extremely bright, stable projectors capable of complex geometric correction and blending, with equipment durable enough to withstand a humid, water-adjacent environment. To bring this vision to life, they partnered with vendor Barco.

Barco implemented a solution using 52 of their high-lumen UDX-W40, UDX-W22, and other laser phosphor projectors. These units provided the necessary brightness, color accuracy, and stability, with built-in geometric correction for seamless images and a dustproof design for the rough conditions. The result was a stunning 5.5 km night tour that vividly portrays 2000 years of local culture, boosting tourism and creating a modern cultural landmark for Ji'an.
