Collaborative visualization solution drives smoother roadways

The Washington State Department of Transportation faced the challenge of modernizing its outdated 1960s-era traffic management center to handle the demands of the growing Seattle area. To address this, the agency partnered with Barco to implement a state-of-the-art command center featuring the Barco TransForm N streaming media platform and Control Room Management Suite (CMS) collaboration software.

Barco's modular solution provided a flexible and cost-effective overview wall, comprising 90 monitors, which is managed by their software. This allows operators to dynamically view, manage, and share real-time data from multiple sources, enhancing collaboration and decision-making during incidents, traffic jams, and public tours.
