The customer, CCTV, China's leading national television station, sought to maintain its top position by upgrading its broadcast studios with new video technology. Their challenge was to find a reliable 4K or HD solution with a long product lifetime to improve the viewing experience for major live events, including the FIFA World Cup, within an extremely tight installation schedule. They turned to vendor Barco for their UniSee LCD video wall solution.
Barco implemented their flicker-free UniSee video walls with Sense X calibration technology in two CCTV-5 studios. The solution was installed and ready in just six days, allowing CCTV to astound millions of viewers with exceptional picture quality during the World Cup broadcasts. The successful partnership and technology enabled CCTV to confirm its status as the country's most-watched sports channel, with additional video walls deployed in time for the 2018 Asian Games.
