Brussels Planetarium offers stunning 360° view on the stars thanks to Barco and RSA Cosmos

The Brussels Planetarium, part of the Royal Observatory of Belgium, sought to upgrade its aging projection system to meet modern technology standards and provide a higher-quality immersive experience for its visitors. They turned to their previous partners, Barco and RSA Cosmos, to achieve this goal using Barco's F70-4K8 laser phosphor projectors.

Barco's solution consisted of a system of eight projectors that deliver stunning 4K UHD images with exceptional black levels and brightness. This technology, combined with RSA Cosmos's astronomical software, created a powerful 8K UHD system that allows for a stunningly realistic immersion into the universe. The projectors' light source lifetime of 60,000 hours vastly improved reliability and sustainability compared to the previous 700-hour lamps, and Barco's 10-year EssentialCare service program ensures long-term support.
