Barco's immersive projection mapping brings history back to life at Cellular Jail, India

The Cellular Jail, a historic colonial prison and tourist site in India, faced the challenge of an outdated visitor experience. Their previous light and sound show no longer engaged the large number of daily visitors. To enhance the tourist experience, they collaborated with vendor Barco and Tricolor India Schauspiel to create a new, immersive multimedia show.

Barco implemented a solution using its high-brightness UDX-W32 and G60-W8 laser projectors to create a vibrant projection mapping spectacle on the jail's facade and surrounding landscape, accompanied by a modern surround sound system. The result was a highly popular and immersive attraction that significantly enhanced the visitor experience. The Barco team ensured fast delivery and reliable support, setting a new benchmark for projection mapping and satisfying the government stakeholders.
