The Great Journey, a large-scale live theatrical performance celebrating the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, required an epic, seamless, and immersive 3D projection solution for its massive stage. The director team had rigid requirements for visuals that were clear, sharp, and distortion-free on a grand scale. To achieve this, they selected a projection solution from vendor Barco, utilizing their UDX-4K40 laser projectors.

Barco implemented a solution using over 150 of their UDX-4K40 projectors to cover the huge stage at the National Stadium. The projectors' high brightness, 4K resolution, and compact design allowed for seamless image fusion on complex surfaces and enabled the technical team to complete the installation and commissioning in under 40 days. The result was a breathtaking and majestic visual experience that immersed the live and broadcast audience, successfully meeting the artistic vision for the prestigious event.
