Barco Projectors Bring the Power of Niagara Falls to Life

The Niagara Parks Commission, the government agency overseeing Niagara Falls in Ontario, faced the challenge of creating a unique and immersive nighttime visitor attraction within a 115-year-old decommissioned hydroelectric plant. The goal was to develop an interactive multimedia show that educated visitors on the history of the falls without compromising the historical integrity of the heritage site or its existing equipment, requiring unobtrusive, flexible, and reliable projection technology.

Barco provided the solution with its new G100-series single-chip projectors, which were selected for their high brightness, 360-degree projection capability, and reliability. The projectors, managed by Barco’s Projector Toolset software, powered a 40-minute immersive show that won first place in the 2021 Blooloop Innovation Awards, drawing acclaim for its innovative blending of history and cutting-edge technology.
