Barco helps Calgary Transit bring a city to life through its mobility infrastructure

The customer, Calgary Transit Infrastructure, required a larger, modernized Operations Control Centre (OCC) to accommodate the growth of its public transit network and manage its complex critical infrastructure. To meet this challenge, they worked with vendor Barco and partner Applied Electronics to implement a new, state-of-the-art control room solution.

Barco provided a comprehensive solution featuring their OpSpace and CMS workflow software, TransForm-N media servers, and large-scale video walls including ODLF-721 laser projection cubes and KVD LCD panels. This implementation streamlined operator workflows, eliminated workstation clutter, and created a scalable system. Crucially, the resilience of the Barco system allowed Calgary Transit to establish backup control centers, which proved invaluable for maintaining efficient operations for over 250,000 daily customers during the COVID-19 pandemic.
