Barco & Forbidden City co-initiate a digital heritage appraisal

The Digital Application Institute of the Cultural Heritage, part of the Forbidden City, required a future-proof immersive studio to digitally preserve and present priceless cultural artifacts. For this upgrade, the institute partnered with Barco to overcome the challenges of a limited installation space and the need for a high-quality, reliable visualization system.

Barco implemented a customized solution using three UDX-4K22 laser projectors, an E2 screen management system, and a multi-window processor to create a 3D immersive experience without glasses. This system provided superb image quality and stable operation, making the new studio the preferred environment for welcoming distinguished guests. The project's success, built on a seventeen-year partnership, led the Forbidden City's management to continuously prefer Barco’s system solutions for their effectiveness and reliable after-sales service.
