Barco diagnostic displays transform viewing experience at WWL Teaching Hospitals

The radiology department at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WWL), a UK-based public healthcare provider, faced the challenge of upgrading its aging diagnostic display fleet. Their goals were to adopt newer technology for more radiologists and to roll out a comprehensive home-working plan to deal with the pandemic, all within a very short delivery time. They chose to partner with Barco for this critical upgrade.

Barco implemented a solution consisting of 37 Coronis Fusion 6MP displays, 8 Coronis Uniti 12MP displays, and 24" Eonis displays for home offices, all installed over a single weekend. The Coronis Uniti displays allowed for PACS and mammography to be combined on a single screen, providing a transformative reading experience. According to the PACS Manager, the project was a success due to Barco's product durability, the unique technology no other vendor could offer on schedule, and the outstanding support provided by the Barco team.
