An optical revolution with Van Eyck and Barco

The Museum of Fine Arts Ghent (MSK) faced the challenge of creating an exceptional exhibition around the restored panels of the Ghent Altarpiece without risking damage to the original artworks. They needed a high-quality digital display solution to showcase the masterpiece's intricate details and tell its story immersively. They chose to work with Barco and its partner, Ocular, to find this solution.

Barco implemented its UniSee LCD videowall with Sense X calibration technology to deliver superb, consistent image quality. This solution allowed the museum to present the artwork with incredible fidelity and significantly upgrade the visitor experience. Although the physical exhibition was impacted by COVID-19, the digital initiative was part of a successful virtual tour program that attracted over 330,000 global viewers and was praised by the BBC.
